Steve Lentz also known as "Shaulls" started playing clarinet at the early age of 8 and by junior high, he was performing with his musically talented family's 15-piece big band. Steve has played all types of music, beginning in high school with The Willaim Penn SHS Serenaders Jazz Band in York Pa. Alumni of William Penn included Dick Price, Tim Warfield, Chris Bacus . Steve was also an original member of The Crown Royals from York Pa. and Fresh. While attending Austin Peay University in Tennessee he earned a BS in music education. Steve played in a variety of bands while in Nashville  

 including  Chapter IX, The Graduates and Four Keys. After graduating he spent two years as a staff musician at the New Opryland Park before returning home to York, PA. Steve is best known in Central PA for his stint with "Hit and Run," with whom he recorded and toured with for eight years, opening for Pat Benatar, the Trammps and other recording artists.

Today Steve can be found playing with The Maxwell Project, AM Radio from Lancaster Pa and his solo gig "Scuba Steve and the Swingin' Sax."

Recently added to the playing out live list is  Shea Quinns The Band Who Sold The World. A Tribute Band from Harrisburg Pa feauturing the music of David Bowie. Currently up for a CPMA Award on March 25th 2022.

York keyboardist extraordinaire Peter Bottros has ask me to join the Shine Orchestra. A recent show at the Appell  Center for the Performing Arts was a great success. Looking forward to doing more with this great local artist in the near future.
